Mount Baker is a
little known secret to much of Seattle. The incredible estates along
tree-lined meridians evoke the essence of historic Seattle. All of this
is hidden just past the popular Lake Washington Boulevard, but Mount
Baker is also a much diversified community and the mansions don't tell
the whole story.
The architecture is a complex mixes of styles
with Tudors, modern, mid century brick homes and of course the classic
Northwestern bungalows. For the most part, gardens are well-tended, and
older homes embody all the charm and greatness from when they were new.
Mount Baker is a neighborhood that is buzzing with athletes. It
is a main thoroughfare for joggers, bicyclists, swimmers, and rowers as
well as being the home to the annual Hydroplane races during Seafair. |
