A short distance from Bellevue and Seattle, Kirkland is a great big-city escape with much to offer. With a quarter of the waterfront preserved by the city, pockets of parks along the waterfront provide access for boaters, sun bathers, and beach strollers. The downtown area contains restaurants of all types while art galleries, furniture shops, decorative art shops, and specialty boutiques fill many of the other commercial spaces. The parks and city spaces contain many pieces of public art, many of which were donated by the

residences that call Kirkland their home. Recently there have been many
new additions to the city with new luxury condominiums, apartments and
hotels, many with views of Lake Washington. Downtown Kirkland and
Carillon Point are a favorite place to stop for lunch during a day on
the boat. |
